I woke up this morning feeling a lot better than yesterday. I still spent a little extra time in bed just because I didn’t exactly feel like I was ready to face the day, I learned my lesson from yesterday – do not ignore  emotions. I mean of course I wasn’t going to spend the whole day in bed, but a little while extra felt great.

After did get up I felt like I had spent about 4 weeks in the desert. I was so thirsty! Definitely feeling the effects of  sodium overload from all the snacks I had indulged in last night. I downed probably 2 glasses of water before eating breakfast, had some fluids with breakfast, and just had another 24 ounces of water and I’m still feeling thirsty.

Breakfast this morning was refreshing and energizing – exactly what I needed.

Egg white puff (x2 egg whites) and a lovely green monster.

In the monster:

  • 3/4 cup almond breeze
  • 1/3 of a frozen banana
  • 4 frozen strawberries
  • 3 large handfuls of spinach
  • about 1/4 avocado
  • random leftovers from a fruit cup (about 1/2 an apple and 2 grapes haha)

I’ve been wanting to try avocado in a green monster for a while now for no particular reason. I guess I just liked the idea of including a healthy fat without using peanut butter (you know, since we’re on a break right now) and since avocados are green, it just kind of made sense in my mind that they could go in a green monster. Haha, I know, amazing logic right there.

I really liked the way it turned out, I loved the flavor and the creamier texture. I didn’t think the flavor would be so strong since I used such a small amount of avocado compared to everything else, but the flavor was definitely very noticable. I’m not really shocked that I like it though because avocados are one of my all time favorite foods. It actually got me thinking about maybe trying a savory green monster?? mmmm I love vegetable juice so I think it might just work.

Random: some how I managed to turn on text overwrite and its driving me crazy! Anyone know how to turn it off?
